I am honored to be the principal at Madison Cross Roads Elementary. I have served 25 years in education, with 17 of those in administration. I have enjoyed the last three at MXR. Rarely do people have the opportunity to come to “work” and enjoy what they do. I am blessed to serve such a great community, an amazing group of students, and a dynamic faculty and staff. Our mission is to capture and develop the hearts and minds if students. Please know that our staff is committed to providing a not only a first-class education for your child, but a first-class experience. As part of the Sparkman family, we take pride in knowing our students will have the opportunity to become future Senators. Sparkman High has so many opportunities for growth and has a proven track record being selected as one of the Top 20 High Schools in Alabama by U.S. News and World Report.
On a personal note, I am married to Amber O’Rear. We are a blended family with 4 daughters and two sons. Alli, 23, is a nurse at North Alabama Oral and Facial Surgery. Emma, 20, is a student and planning to be a special education teacher. Jackson, 18, is a senior at Sparkman High. Addie Kate, 15, will be attending Rock Quarry Middle School in Tuscaloosa. Timothy, 11, and Wesley, 7, both attend Mill Creek Elementary. I also had a daughter, Payton, who passed away at the age of eight in 2010. She inspires me daily to be a better person and recognize that every person has gifts and as educators we are called to help recognize, support, and celebrate diversity.
